Straton
Straton, in Greek, means army. I did not know that as a child, playing on the walls of the old citadel in Constanța, by the gates people passed through thousands of years ago. I learned it later, when I did my own military service.
And later still I learned that, further down the coast, near Tuzla, the Greeks had built a port-citadel they called Stratonis, "Straton's". My name, on my shore, from before any of us were born.
In that same Greek world, another Straton led Aristotle's school and was nicknamed the Physicist, because he explained the world by measuring it, not by guessing.
I did not choose the name. I carry it. But the way of working I did choose: measure before I promise, rise for perspective to see the whole, and let light tell the story. Stratosfera is the layer you climb to in order to see farther than from the ground.
